Time to break from dogs and give a cat a chance!

Dogs have always been a part of my life. From birth until now. I'm not sure I would really know what to do without one. I honestly really don't want to know what it is like without one.

We have adopted all of the dogs we have ever had except one. That is our current Golden Retriever. He comes from a breeder and I wouldn't trade him for the world! Our second current dog is a Yorkie that we adopted from a lovely young lady who I know loved him very much. It was hard for her to say goodbye.

We are strong advocates for adopting animals. I would like to think that most anyone would be. Animals are so full of love no matter what age and need the gift of a family to help them heal their fear and feeling of abandonment after being relinquished to a shelter. There are so many wonderful shelters that give these animals a second chance!

So for the past several weeks I have focused my punch needle efforts on dogs. I have completed and sold both my Yorkie pillow and Golden Retriever pillow on Etsy and I am ever so thrilled! My latest effort has been a tabby cat that I just listed on Etsy. I have to admit that it was a little foreign to me to choose a cat. Not that I don't like cats! Oh, not at all! I just have never had a cat. My whole family is allergic to cats. Funny, right? My husband, me, my daughter, and my son. My daughter used to love to go look at the cats up for adoption at our local pet store and she just "HAD" to pet them (who couldn't!). Of course, I would tell her not to. I would give her the whole "look but don't touch" speech that never worked! This meant a dreaded ride home because not only would she cry because she wanted to bring the cat home, but she would also cry, sneeze, and wipe her itchy eyes because of her allergies. She was a mess!

Here is my version of an orange tabby cat!

              " Kitty the Cat"

Now that it is complete I have grown a little fond of the idea of owning a cat. (Though realistically I know we can't) I think this project opened my eyes to the beauty and complexities of the breed and how popular they are to millions of people.

Are dogs great? Yes! Now I can also say that cats are great too! If we can't have a real cat then maybe I should make another pillow to keep here at our house. Then I can say, "yes we own a cat!" 😁

Thanks for stopping by!

Stay Creative!
