My first Primitive Punch Needle Creation
When beginning this punch needle journey I had a clear vision. I wanted to do modern, every day punch needle creations and lean a little left to the primitive curve. I like the feel and look of primitive pieces, it's just that I wanted to offer items that would fit in other people's homes like my own. I went full speed ahead and punched and created away. I put them on Etsy and wondered if people would accept them. Days went by and I worried. Did I really just push my way into this little Etsy world without really knowing if I had a winner? Yes, it appears I did. I can giggle now, but it was quite disheartening for awhile. Then I had the idea to do dog/cat items. This is when my sales started. So lesson learned is that people like their dogs! Ha! I didn't want to get into a rut and just do animal items. I finally decided to attempt this primitive thing. I needed to expand my horizon and not be afraid of primitive.
So here it is. My primitive Abraham Lincoln I call "Four Score." I just added this to my Etsy Shop and within a minute it was "favorited" by someone.

In the short few months since I opened my Etsy Shop I have learned so many things. Good and bad. I have been encouraged to start selling my patterns too rather than just all finished pieces. I am evolving and feeling good about it.
As I was writing this blog and remembering my insecurities in the beginning of my Etsy journey I found a photo my daughter took of me. I remember exactly what I was thinking too at the time of this photo. I was renewing my nursing license online and the whole while wondering if maybe this Etsy thing really could be successful. I had a whopper of a headache!
Since this picture I have sold 3 items and I am feeling more confident. Decision: Primitive items will be peppered in with my other items and patterns in the future. Who would have thought?
Thanks for stopping by!
Stay Creative!
